Johnathan C. Robinson, an accomplished clarinetist and native of Florida, holds a Doctor of Musical Arts and a Master of Music degree from Arizona State University. His academic journey began at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts in Winston-Salem, NC, where he earned his Bachelor of Music degree before relocating to Phoenix in 2007.

Dedicated to the intersection of education and performance, Dr. Robinson has enriched his musical expertise through solo and chamber repertoire studied at the Belgium Clarinet Academy in Oostende, Belgium, under the mentorship of acclaimed clarinetists Robert Spring and Eddy Vanoosthuyse.

In 2019, Dr. Robinson assumed the role of Director of Instrumental Ensembles at Brophy College Preparatory, following a tenure as the Director of Bands and Single Reed and Bassoon Instructor at Arizona School for the Arts. Notably, he held the esteemed position of Principal Clarinet with the Chandler Symphony Orchestra, Phoenix Opera, and Scottsdale Arts Orchestra.

Residing in Phoenix, Dr. Robinson actively cultivates a dynamic career in education and performance. In 2023, he joined the Mill Avenue Chamber Players and continues to freelance with prominent ensembles, including the Colour of Music Festival Orchestra, Arizona Opera, the West Valley Symphony, and the Symphony of the Southwest, among others.

Esteemed mentors, including Peter Wright, Bob Listokin, Daniel McKelway, Igor Begelman, and Robert Spring, have shaped his musical journey.
